Individual Counseling in Pennsylvania

Life has a way of catching up with us. Maybe it's anxiety that won't quiet down, a low mood that's settled in and stayed, the weight of something painful you've never fully worked through, or just the sense that you're not living the way you were meant to. Individual counseling is a space to slow down, be honest, and begin to heal — with someone walking beside you.

At Growth Counseling, we offer faith-integrated, evidence-based therapy for adults across Pennsylvania, all online. You don't have to choose between your faith and real clinical care. We bring both — the timeless truths of Scripture and proven therapeutic methods — to help you grow into the person God created you to be.

What Individual Counseling Helps With

Everyone's story is different, but the work often touches on:

  • Anxiety, worry, and overwhelm
  • Depression, discouragement, and low motivation
  • Trauma and painful memories
  • Anger and emotional reactivity
  • Grief and loss
  • Faith — a place to wrestle honestly with doubt, disappointment, or hard questions, and to find encouragement and grow
  • Identity, purpose, and direction
  • Men's issues and the pressure to carry everything alone
  • Life transitions — career, marriage, parenting, loss, or a new season

If anxiety or trauma is the heart of what you're carrying, you may also want to read about our anxiety counseling and EMDR therapy, which we often weave into individual work.

Ways to Begin

There's no single "right" way to start. Some people like to begin with a free 15-minute consultation — a no-pressure conversation to see if we're a good fit. Others are ready to book a first session and dive in. And some just have questions they'd like answered first. Any of those is a great first step — reach out however feels comfortable to you.

Sessions are held online through secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth, so you can meet from anywhere in Pennsylvania — no commute, no waiting room. Research consistently shows online therapy is as effective as in-person care, and most people find they open up more easily from their own space.

Counseling with us is collaborative and unhurried. We work together to understand what's really going on — and from there move toward healing, practical tools, and lasting change.

Our Approach

We integrate evidence-based clinical practices — including EMDR (trauma-informed), the Flash Technique, CBT, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), inner healing, emotionally focused therapy, and the Neurosequential Model — all viewed through a biblical worldview. Faith and Scripture are woven in as much or as little as you're comfortable with. The goal is whole-person healing: mind, body, and spirit.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to be a Christian to come? No. We're glad to work with anyone, and we'll meet you wherever you are. Faith is integrated to the degree you want it to be.

How much does it cost? Sessions are $155, and a sliding scale is available. We're out-of-network providers, but we provide a superbill you can submit to your insurance for possible reimbursement. HSAs and FSAs are accepted, and most PPO plans reimburse for out-of-network care.

Can you see me anywhere in Pennsylvania? Yes. We see clients online across the entire state.
